The concept of the holdem games are that it makes holdem games to be quite a distinctive but yet the most interesting casino games. No game in the world can be won until unless you have full knowledge about the rules of the games and the same goes for Holdem poker games as well. Thus, following are rules of poker for no limit holdem game games and limit holdem games that should be kept in mind while playing poker games:
No Limit Holdem Rules
Just like the name suggests, there is no limit to the betting amount in the games. Suppose, in a game of $5/$10, the small blind will be $5 and the big blind will be $10. These values of the small and big blinds remain the same throughout the games. The first player on the left of the dealer button will have to put the small blind. After him the person sitting on the left of him will have to put the big blind.
Now, that the blinds have been put in the pot, the dealer provides the players with two hole cards and places five cards faced downwards on the table. The person sitting on the immediate left of the big blind needs to act (call, raise, all-in, flop) and then the games proceeds in a clockwise direction. This round is known as Pre-Flop.
While calling the bet, the amount that needs to be called should be at least equivalent to the amount that has been called by the big blind. A raise must be twice of the previous bet. A player can even go all-in and bet his entire stack or can even fold out of the game.
Now, three out of five cards are dealt faced up by the dealer. This round is known as Flop. The players need to form the best five card hand out of two hole cards and three community cards the cards provided and a round of betting begins. The player with the best hand wins the pot.
Now the fourth out of five community cards is dealt faced up. This round is known as ‘Turn’. Again a betting round begins and the players need to form the best five card hand out of six cards provided and the best hand wins the pot.
Lastly, the final round ‘River’ takes place in which the final card is dealt faced up and the players lay their bets in the pot. The strongest five card hand in the game wins the pot.
Limit Holdem Rules
Unlike No limit Holdem games; there are predetermined bets that are fixed for the rounds. Suppose, if you are playing $1/$2 stake games then amount that can be bet in the betting rounds up to and in the immediate betting round after Flop will be $1 whereas $2 will be the betting amount for ‘turn’ and ‘river’.
The blinds are put in the same way. If you are playing $1/$2 stake game then the small blind will be $0.50 and the big blind will be $1.
Once the small and the big blinds are put in the pot and the Pre-Flop takes place where the players are provided with two hole cards and five community cards are placed on the table facing down.
After that, Flop takes place. After three cards are dealt faced up then a betting round begins. The amount that can be bet or raised is $1. This will be the last betting round in which you will need to bet $1 as from the next round the amount to be bet and raised increases to $2.
Once the betting round is over, ‘turn’ takes place followed by one more betting round.
Lastly, ‘river’ takes place in which the strongest hand is rewarded with the pot.
These are the holdem poker rules that you need to follow while playing no limit texas holdem or limit holdem games.
